ADHD Treatment Group for

Late-Diagnosed Women

6-Week Therapy Course

Mondays 5:30–7:30pm | Oct 20 - Nov 24 | 2025

The Psychology Hub, Riccarton

Who would benefit from this group?

This group is designed to support women who have recently discovered their ADHD in

adulthood and are navigating what that means for them now.

It may be especially meaningful if you:

  • Have built success by relying on perfectionism, people-pleasing, determination, or

overcompensation, but find those strategies are no longer sustainable.

  • Feel the weight of exhaustion, overwhelm, or burnout and are ready for a healthier

    way forward.

  • Are seeking a safe, supportive space to explore your ADHD identity.

What makes this course different?

This course goes beyond surface-level strategies to focus on the deeper lived experience of

women with ADHD.

  • At the heart of this course is a focus on women – honouring how hormones, social expectations, and masking shape the ADHD experience in ways that are too often overlooked.

  • It acknowledges the compensatory strategies, perfectionism, overachievement,

people-pleasing, that may have helped you succeed, but often at the cost of your

    wellbeing.

  • This is not a course of quick tips or “life hacks.” We know you’ve been managing the basics for years. Instead, we focus on the secondary experiences, burnout, identity, relationships, and self-acceptance, and provide tools for approaching these challenges with greater clarity and compassion.

  • Connection is at the core. You’ll have the opportunity to build community with other women through in-person group work, and an optional online space for continued support and shared learning.

What this course will cover:

Together, we’ll dive into the unique experiences of women with ADHD, with a focus on

understanding, reframing, and reshaping the challenges that often emerge after a later

diagnosis:

  • Making sense of a late diagnosis – unpacking the impact of discovering ADHD in

    adulthood.

  • Hormones and ADHD – understanding how hormonal changes shape symptoms and daily functioning.

  • Masking and socialisation – exploring how neurodivergent women often camouflage, and the toll this takes.

  • Relationships and connection – recognising common patterns and learning how to

    shift dynamics in healthier directions.

  • Emotional regulation and rejection sensitivity – building awareness and strategies for navigating intense feelings.

  • Burnout and overwhelm – identifying the cycles that affect high-achieving women and creating ways to prevent and recover from them.

INVESTMENT

The cost is $75 per hour, totalling $900 (GST inclusive) for 12 hours of group therapy across six weeks.

To put that in perspective, this is similar in cost to
just 4.5 hours of individual therapy – and offers a much more dynamic, supportive group experience.
